Motherhood

Ahh...motherhood. It is truly one of the greatest joys, surprises and heartaches of all time. I love it.

• Motherhood finds you doing the things you never imagined you would.....

-changing some of the most offensive diapers of all time

-gladly accepting your child's boogers (thank goodness they are no longer eating them!)

-accepting the flowers from weeds with the enthusiasm worthy of an Oscar

• Motherhood also finds you doing the things you always dreamed....

-snuggling in bed with a favorite book to share

-giving endless hugs and kisses while arguing who loves who more

-being the recipient of the most beautiful smile you have ever seen

• Motherhood finds you worrying over things you never thought of before....

-will a steady diet of chicken strips stunt his growth?

-am I failing as a parent if my child is throwing temper tantrums?

-will this loose tooth EVER fall out?

• Motherhood also finds you pleased in things that you had worried over before....

-My child actually said "please" and "thank you" without my prompting

-My child didn't give the babysitter a hard time

-My child made his bed without me asking him to

• Motherhood changes your priorities and plans....

-You suddenly know every children's show on TV but are lost as to what sitcoms are "hot"

-No matter what you may have going on, a little one's fever will put everything on hold

-Suddenly the world's problems take a backseat to the learning of shoe tying

• Motherhood makes everything a little different....

-That precious smile can make even the worst day a little brighter

-You are more excited over "pee and poop" than you ever thought imaginable

-You are never for a loss of a cute story because your child is the funniest you have ever seen

• Motherhood is truly a gift from God....

-It teaches you to pay attention to the details in life...just like your child reminds you to do

-It teaches you about a kind of love that surpasses anything you have ever known

-It teaches you what a true sacrifice it would be to send your innocent child to save the world
