Easter Sunday

Today was Easter!!!

On Saturday, Zach and I dyed Easter eggs, just for fun. We do not eat or hide these eggs. No one in our house likes to eat boiled eggs, and they do not hide well because the dye tends to rub off and get very messy. (If someone has a tip for that, please send it my way!)

We made a special trip to the farmer's market to pick out the perfect carrots. We put out carrots and water for the Easter Bunny, and when Easter morning comes, he has eaten the carrots and leaves a few small treats and hidden Easter eggs. (This is a tradition that has been in full swing since Zach's second Easter--his first he was under a year old. It is so loved that he has been begging me all week to take him to pick out carrots.)

Unfortunately, Gary was on call this weekend, so he missed out on some of the fun. He was able to see Zach's excitement when he saw what the Easter bunny had left for him. Luckily, Zach's grandpa and grandma (my parents) came down to share in the fun holiday. Zach said that he loves Easter and he had the most fun hunting his eggs.

Zach whispered to me during each part of the communion service about the significance of the bread and grape juice. It was so meaningful to spend my communion service listening to my son tell me about the Savior's sacrifice.

Hunting eggs in the den, since it was rainy on Easter eve and morning (last year, there was snow, so this was definitely an improvement, albeit disappointing since the weather was beautiful most of the week.):
